What do I need to get into School of Continuing Studies?

To enroll in SCS, students must have a high school diploma or a GED. There is a one-page application to be filled out and a $25 fee. Students may apply in person at any of the SCS campuses or online.

Are "School of Continuing Studies" and "Tulane" the same thing?

The School of Continuing Studies is one of nine schools at Tulane University: Architecture, A. B. Freeman School of Business, Law, Liberal Arts, Medicine, Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Science and Engineering, Social Work, and School of Continuing Studies.

What's the tuition at the School of Continuing Studies?

$273 per credit hour for the 2008/2009 academic year, which means that a typical three-credit course costs $819. While SCS students may live on campus, purchase a meal plan, and participate fully in campus-sponsored organizations, most choose to live at home.

What kind of degree can I get?

The School of Continuing Studies offers bachelors' and associates' degrees, as well as subject-specific certificates. The School of Continuing Studies also offers a Master of Liberal Arts degree.

When do classes start?

The School of Continuing Studies calendar is on a Spring/Summer/Fall "trimester" system. We have two 15-week-long semesters and one 12-week-long summer semester, as well as two six-week-long summer semesters.

How many classes can I take?

Part-time students in good standing in The School of Continuing Studies may take up to 13 credits per semester. Students may take more credits in the summer if they wish, but should always consider the time and effort they have available for their studies while scheduling courses.

Students seeking financial aid should also note that taking 12 credits qualifies them for "full-time" aid status.
